Woven yoghurt pot

Ever since I discovered Windmill Loop weaving I have been keen to try other simple basketry projects using discarded materials. This one is simply a large yoghurt pot of the type of plastic (polypropylene) that splits readily when squashed so I wasn’t sure it would work. It’s woven with a strip of blue carrier bag and I wove the spokes back into the basket.

The result is a rather wobbly pot – but you’ve got to start somewhere! My thought is that next time I’ll try adding the rim of a larger pot to weave around.
The part I am most pleased with is that the shape flared out which is more attractive than the original shape.
